Historic homes aren't just old - they offer a value that cannot be replicated

Our 1911 Putnam Heights home was the Governor's Mansion while the current Governor's Mansion was being built. Yes, Historic means old and that means an established neighborhood with big trees and sidewalks and convenient access to everything. If you look at the workmanship and material quality in a historic home carefully, you will realize that new construction, of equal quality, would cost you two to three times the price of a historic home. The big rooms, the history, the unique character, and the innate quality are all reasons that historic homes retain their value.

Homes are like anything that has value and provide function and pleasure; they require maintenance. Citywide Refrigeration Heating and Air installed two 20 seer high efficiency units in our home and cut our utility bills in half. I cannot imagine a time that we would give up our home in Putnam Heights for any other home in the city.

Because of my experience with upgrading my Putnam Heights home, I developed  knowledge of what it takes to bring out the best in them. It inspired me to obtain my Realtor's license.

If Crown Heights, Nichols Hills Edgemere, Mesta Park, Heritage Hills,...or Putnam Height appeal to you and you are thinking about on "old" new home, call me, Brenda Seagroves at (405) 824-6566 or you can reach me at Keller Williams-Northwest Market Center at (405) 948-7500.

My husband, Dennis Seagroves, owns Citywide Refrigeration Heating and Air. We co-host a luncheon once per month, with our neighbor, Jack Werner, owner of A to Z Inspections. If you would like to visit our home before you make a decision about a historic home, call me at (405) 824-6566.

I, Brenda Seagroves, am a Realtor with Keller Williams, noted for my expertise in historic homes. My husband, Dennis and I, recently hosted a party for the City Sentinel at our home. Over 100 people attended, including a past State Governor, Senators and Community Leaders. Wouldn't you like a home that could graciously host such a group. (405) 824-6566.
